Red lens glasses block close to 100% of both blue and green wavelengths. While many glasses only block blue light, recent studies have shown that lower wavelengths also significantly impact sleep patterns. Red lens glasses are not suitable for extended wear and are best used before sleeping to improve sleep quality. However, they are quite dark and should not be worn for more than 2 hours at a time.
Orange lenses and transparent lenses can be worn for longer periods. Transparent lenses do not alter the colors you see.
Yellow lenses are designed for night vision driving.
Tinted lenses help reduce digital eye strain caused by harmful blue light (HEV light) from computer screens, mobile phones, TVs, and other digital devices. Anti-blue light and anti-glare lenses are effective as gaming or computer glasses to alleviate visual fatigue and discomfort from prolonged use of PCs, laptops, or for activities like gaming and watching videos.
Red lenses block 100% of blue light but are too dark for outdoor use and not suitable for extended wear. They are intended for use only before sleep to help improve sleep quality.
Orange lenses block 99% of blue light, are category 3, and are suitable for long-term wear.
